Wow - this almost makes me want to cook more vegan recipes. We have several family members who have "gone vegan" and it's a challenge to make sure there is something at the family table for them. I might be able to bring something more than hummous to gatherings. And glad you're back!

This is a great looking blog. I stumbled onto it via a "plug" for you on Twitter and thought you'd want to know that your platform is working for you. We have similar thought-lines with regard to genious and average. Also, I was glad to see this post on a failed recipe. It's important for for everyone to know that it's okay to wreck a recipe (an essay, a poem, a song, a 2x4--whatever) along the way. Learn and move on. I've seen some grand cookie recipes here I want to try after I make my weight goal for this summer. It's good to know you're still around.

Shawn - I am enjoying your blog - and learning more about you. You're fun and quirky (imho). I hope you'll do more music recommendations, as I no longer listen to the mountain, finding that I do not like their format - but am always looking for new music to add to my MP3 player, and your recommendations have always been the best I can find.

Lastly - Would you consider changing your blog byline to something other than the canned "admin". I subscribe to a lot of blogs and don't want to bypass yours thinking it is one that is not that important - and that is the first line that comes up on blog posts in my Outlook for most blogs, unless it has been modified. So - when it is distinctive it helps us end-users find the right blog. :)

Best of Luck to you in your future endeavors - I hope to be here reading about your recipes, your music and your adventures!

The video was awesome. I made one crepe in France the last time, and it was just about as terrible as your first. I didn't even try a second.

We actually spend a fair amount of time there getting cool fabric for gifts and costumes, etc. Great little shop. Plus the coffee shop next door is awesome too.

Lovely post! I'm a costume designer and must regularly seek out the pretty, sparkly and brightly inspiring to recover from the unrelenting dreariness outside in the winter. People have actually THANKED me for wearing a bright-colored coat! ~ Dina
