So yesterday, we were a bit location-confused with Alberta Cross. Well, good music knows no boundaries: today we’re headed to the deep south with a track from the Drive-By Truckers.
The Truckers have been busy lately with a new live album and DVD release, a tour of the southeast US, and the release of their rarities/b-sides disc entitled The Fine Print: A Collection of Oddities and Rarities. Patterson Hood has also announced, via the band’s website, that the Drive-By Trucker’s ninth album is in the works:
As if they’re not working on anything else, the DBT are following this album with what they describe as an “R&B Murder Ballad album” called Go Go Boots.
Well, call it what you will… but if the rest of their new stuff is anything like this track, I’m excited for it.
